Alek Sun has been working as a professional photographer for over ten years, with the majority of his career based in Los Angeles. His passion for photography began in childhood, watching his father work in the darkroom—the magic of ghost images appearing on paper under red light, the distinctive smell of processing chemicals, and walls lined with cameras. Those early memories sparked a lifelong dedication to the craft that has evolved alongside the digital revolution.

Throughout his career in Los Angeles, Alek has worked alongside some of the industry's most renowned photographers. He collaborated with English photographer Donna Trope, retouching images that were published in Flaunt Magazine, where he received credited recognition. This experience led Alek to be a photoshop wizard. He also built photography sets for David LaChapelle, Andy Warhol's protégé, who continues to shoot A-list celebrities from his Los Angeles studio. Projects Alek collaborated with LaChapelle involved celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Pamela Anderson, Mariah Carey. Additionally, Alek covered numerous red carpet events tied to the Oscars, Emmys, and other major entertainment industry occasions, gaining invaluable insight into celebrity and event photography.

What truly sets Alek apart as a lifestyle photographer is his extensive experience on the other side of the camera. As a SAG (Screen Actors Guild) member represented by Brogan Agency, Alek spent years as a working actor in Hollywood. This dual career—balancing photography and acting—gave him an intimate understanding of what actors need from their photography. He learned from both sides of the camera what casting agencies look for, allowing him to capture images that truly represent his subjects and serve their professional goals.

Alek's expertise extends into the high fashion industry, where he served as the main photographer for a high-end swimwear apparel company for over four years. During this time, he photographed all brand events, editorials, and campaigns, developing a refined eye for fashion photography that informs his portrait work today. With this company, he photographed internationally, including Cannes, France. This combination of red carpet experience, acting insight, and high fashion expertise makes him uniquely qualified to capture the glamour, confidence, and authenticity his clients seek.
